France Soccer

They are known simply as Les Bleus, the two-time World Cup champions. Hold on to your baguettes as the soccer team from France kicks off the no. 10 spot in our rankings. The French first wore all white shirts with large interlocking blue and red circles across their chest. In 1904, they switched to a royal blue jersey with this logo on the chest inside a white crest.

Beginning in 1919, the team started wearing a Gallic rooster as a logo on their chest and have stuck with this logo in various forms for over 100 years.

The France kit remained fairly consistent through the decades. Sometimes they’d mix in a plain blue jersey, or a slightly darker/lighter blue hue, but most of the time it was blue with red and white trim.

In 2008, the country debuted a new rooster logo that looked partly like a soccer ball, but also like the threads of a pie crust. For 2014, France returned to a more normal looking rooster on a home kit that was dark blue with white trim. Their recent kit from 2022 was surprisingly sharp in navy blue with bright gold trim.

For 2024, Nike has returned the team to a more traditional look in royal blue jersey featuring red and white trim with a large oversized rooster in yellow/gold.

France has worn all-blue from head to toe in 2012 and 2018 (the latter while winning the World Cup) but traditionally pairs their blue jersey with white shorts and bright red socks. In terms of a color silhouette it’s one of the most iconic looks in international soccer.
