The first edition of this blog began in 2009 by the now-retired Whiskey and eventually found a home first on the FanTake network and then for 5 years at SB Nation.

As of the summer of 2016 this blog returned to its independent roots and was re-branded as 18 Stripes.

What once was a small blog that began with one writer has since grown to a much larger family. Today, our writers here at Eighteen Stripes come from all over the place and long ago started covering more than just Fighting Irish football.
