Notre Dame picked up its second commit in the 2024 class - and second defensive lineman - when four-star prospect Owen Wafle announced for the Irish on CBS Sports. The 6'3", 270-pound (what are they feeding these kids?!?) New Jerseyan visited Notre Dame in March, at which point buzz began to grow that the Irish [...]
Notre Dame added another big fella to the 2023 class today when four-star offensive lineman Sullivan Absher announced his commitment to the Irish. The 6'7", 290 pound (we weren't kidding!) North Carolinian had been mostly focused on schools close to home, most notably Clemson and NC State, with Harry Hiestand's reputation one of the main [...]
Notre Dame has dipped back into the state of Maryland for the first time since the 2021 class and cornerback Ryan Barnes as Hagerstown defensive tackle product Devan Houstan committed to the Irish on Saturday. Houstan originally hails from the Toronto suburb of Mississauga and has been going to school at the prep academy St. [...]
This is the last stop on our journey taking a look at the best recruits signed by all of the major college football programs. Today, we tackle the behemoth that is the SEC. With Texas and Oklahoma set to join the league in the coming years that would make it 15 out of the 16 [...]
The Notre Dame faithful received more good news Wednesday night when blue-chip defensive lineman Boubacar Traore gave his verbal commitment to the Fighting Irish. The 6'4"/250-pounder out of West Roxbury, MA continues the Irish staff's strong week on the recruiting trail by becoming the 11th commit in Notre Dame's recruiting class of 2023 -- a [...]
Harry Heistand has his first verbal since arriving back at Notre Dame. On Monday night, 2023 interior offensive lineman Sam Pendleton committed to the Fighting Irish during a ceremony at his high school. He was offered only 5 weeks ago and becomes the first offensive lineman to join the class. I am committed to @NDFootball‼️ [...]
Notre Dame, who you may have heard is, uh, long on opportunity for incoming wideouts, landed a huge piece of the 2023 recruiting class today when top 100 prospect Braylon James announced for the Irish. The 6'3", 190 pound Texan broke the Irish seal for new receiver coach Chansi Stuckey in a big way; at [...]
Hold up, we're not done with the 2022 recruiting cycle yet. On Friday evening the Fighting Irish signed their 22nd member of the class as Cincinnati, Ohio running back Gi'Bran (pronounced Juh-Brawn) Payne joined the fold. Offered by Notre Dame in the summer of 2020, Payne would commit to Indiana the following summer and signed [...]
We are approaching the halfway mark of the 2023 recruiting cycle and this is our first scholarship update of the 2022 calendar year following a December bowl-prep check in after Brian Kelly left for LSU. While Notre Dame lost on the field in the Fiesta Bowl the success and growing optimism off the field through [...]
It's time to head out west and look at the best recruits for each Pac-12 school. Although there's one heavyweight program on this west coast trail we'll also see plenty of other interesting players scattered throughout the conference. But first, the club no one wants to be in. No 5-Star Loser Club Arizona Utah Washington [...]
After a brief look at the top recruits from the non-Power 5 and Notre Dame we're back in the Atlantic Coast Conference and their best efforts. Before we get to the proper article remember we have to laugh at the poor programs who don't get a full feature today. No 5-Star Loser Club Duke Wake [...]
In case you missed it, I recently reviewed my way-too-early guess at Notre Dame's recruiting class of 2022. As is tradition, next year’s way-too-early guess is next, and I think it’s one that most of you would be very pleased with. The Fighting Irish have gotten off to their best recruiting start since, well... Ever? [...]
So far in this series we've looked at the best recruits since 2000 from the Big 12 and Big Ten conferences. Today we'll look outside of the Power 5 conferences, including our own Notre Dame Fighting Irish. As always, only 5-stars need apply. There are plenty of Power 5 teams who have never signed a [...]
Around this time a year ago I published my Way-Too-Early Guess at Notre Dame Football's Recruiting Class of 2022. At the time, college football was still in a recruiting dead period that would last another 3 months. Many of Notre Dame's top targets had never set foot on campus, presenting a difficult challenge when putting [...]
Hopefully you enjoyed our overview of the 2022 Notre Dame recruiting class with recruit grades and some thoughts on the class. We started a deeper dive into position groups with a look at the offensive skill positions, then moved on to the offensive line, then the defensive line (plus the punter, because he has to [...]
