We are just a few weeks from the start of the 2018 lacrosse season. Let’s reintroduce the new faces we will see on the field.
The incoming freshmen are the #1 ranked recruiting class, the first time the Fighting Irish newcomers have earned this designation. This is a stacked class that will be making an immediate impact on the field.
Our Freshman by Jersey Number:
Jersey #/Name
#1 Connor Morin Attack 6’3” 200lbs The consensus top-5 recruit from New Jersey will provide the Irish with a presence from X they haven’t had in a while. He looked great in the summer All-American game.
#6 Michael Drake Attack 5’11” 180 Also had a great All-American game, and like Morin is a consensus top pick.
#16 Jacob Frane Midfielder 6’3” 222 This big midfielder from Colorado is taking on Sergio’s #16. We love this!
#25 Mo Mirer Midfielder 6’2” 200 The Californian with a name that should be familiar to all Irish fans will be fun to watch, especially when he pounds on his brother who will be playing for Michigan.
#27 John Hallenbeck Midfielder 6’2” 189 The first of three excellent players from Culver Military Academy, the #3 team in the country last year and where he was captain.
#31 Daniel Cassidy Midfielder 6’1” 200 A surprise addition to the team, he had a great goal in Notre Dame’s fall scrimmage win against the Canadian National Team.
#35 James Littlefield Defense 6’0” 192 A multisport athlete from Massachusetts set to add immediate depth to the defense.
#36 Arden Cohen Defense 6’2” 192 The absolute top H.S. defenseman last year. Was impressive at the All-American game like his Notre Dame classmates.
#39 Davis Allen Attack 6’6” 220 The huge attackman from Pelham Memorial, the same school as Matt Landis.
#41 Matt Schmidt Goal 6’0” 203 Another player from Culver! He stood out in goal during the All-American game with some very nice saves.
#43 Michael Fay Midfielder 5’10” 185 He’s taken on the number of Matt Landis, so we know he will embrace defense!
#49 Carson Cochran LSM 6’4” 205 From the same school as Sergio Perkovic. Like Cohen, had a great All-American game. We are interested in the fact that he is listed as an LSM to open the season.
#55 Wheaton Jackoboice Attack/Mid 6’2” 180 The third of our Culver players. His father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all Fighting Irish athletes!
#60 Griffin Gallant LSM/Defense 6’0” 207 We are excited the Irish have this home-grown player from the growing Indianapolis lacrosse community!
