Today we publish our 32nd uniform concept for Notre Dame football. This one is part one of a throwback to the days of C+C Music Factory, Color Me Badd, and R.E.M. on the radio during a time when snapback hats were first cool and large winter coats were all the rage.
It’s the early 1990’s up in here.
When it comes to 90’s jackets THIS Starter version was the king, while THIS similar version was also popular. If you wanted a button up version of course THIS was seen all over the country and still looks good today. As for yours truly none of these were available in my small town so I settled on THIS Apex jacket.
For today’s concept we went with a much more vibrant and creative jacket as the basis for our uniform.
Rate today’s uniform and share your 1990’s coats with us in the comment section.
Wait, the “Fightin’ 8’s”? Is there an “Irish” on the back? Also, shouldn’t the number be 80?
I definitely had a jacket like that years ago, but it’s long gone now.
These uniforms are very true to the style. Not that that’s a good thing. 😁
Very fun idea!
I just hope the yellow doesn’t come off as “Michigan-y” as it is in my head right now. If it looks less piss colored on TV then I’m all in on this. I remember those jackets and still have some of them myself.
It is what it is. 90’s apparel for Michigan and Notre Dame were essentially the exact same colors.
I’ve made it known that Michigan doesn’t own yellow, screw them. Plus, they’d probably quibble about maize anyway.
Also, I find the “piss yellow” designation funny because no one’s piss should be bright yellow.
Survey says: XXX!
I think that’s a violation of du Lac
I dig it.
