The journey to display the best high school football uniforms in the United States enters our fourth installment. Last week, we looked at a California school with a rich history, a fiery school from Arizona, and one of the strongest schools from Dallas.
Our Countdown So Far:
#27 Vanden HS, California
#26 McKay HS, Oregon
#25 Bishop Gorman, Nevada
#24 Orange HS, Ohio
#23 Mountain View HS, Idaho
#22 St. Vincent-St. Mary, Ohio
#21 Long Beach Poly, California
#20 Chaparral HS, Arizona
#19 Duncanville HS, Texas
As always, we welcome your ratings in the comment sections, plus any submissions especially if they are from small schools not well known throughout the country. On today’s countdown we travel to the eastern Jersey coast, then west to Chicago, and back down to the Lone Star State once again.
#18 Manasquan High School
Manasquan, New Jersey
Mascot: Warriors
Enrollment: 1,006 (public)
About an hour south of New York City on the Atlantic Coast of New Jersey we have these wonderfully simple and dare I say gritty looking uniforms from Manasquan High School. Their most famous alum is actor Jack Nicholson and this is also the school attended by all three Mabrey sisters from Notre Dame women’s basketball. One of the strongest teams in Jersey at their level, they still wear a “KUBU” memorial on their helmet bumper for former head coach Vic Kubu who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2007.
Yes, this is very similar to Penn State except substituting gray for white. Looking past that, the lack of white is a really smart decision. Just think about something subtle like a white facemask and how much it would alter this look. Additionally, the helmet stickers are a nice touch to keep this uniform set with a little bit of customization.
#17 Fenwick High School
Location: Oak Park, Illinois
Mascot: Friars
Enrollment: 1,084 (Catholic, co-ed)
Our 17th best uniform comes from the old Chicago Catholic League and Fenwick High School in the village of Oak Park. The most famous alum would be this guy named Johnny Lattner who graduated in 1950 and would go on to win the 1953 Heisman Trophy at Notre Dame. Not long ago, Fenwick incorporated a lot of silver in their uniforms and looked a lot like the Las Vegas Raiders. At the time, it would’ve been the Oakland Raiders.
Recently, Fenwick has adopted an absolutely gorgeous black and white color scheme. Their modern home and away jerseys have a sharp striping pattern on the shoulders with a large school crest on their helmets. They also debuted these unbelievable Jordan uniforms with the Air Jordan III iconic elephant print on the sleeves, collar, and pant stripes, in addition to the classy Friars script on the helmet.
#16 Carroll Senior High School
Location: Southlake, Texas
Mascot: Dragons
Enrollment: 1,390 (public)
We got you, IrishTexan. Our last uniform for today comes from Carroll High School in the city of Southlake, Texas among the metro area of Dallas/Fort Worth. More commonly known as Southlake Carroll this is the school where No. 1 overall recruit and quarterback Quinn Ewers reclassified from 2022 to 2021 in order to join Ohio State and collect NIL payments.
This combination of green and black is tough to beat. As is the dragons mascot which we discussed in the comment section of the first article in this series. It’s unique and playful in a way that pairs well with a fairly traditional uniform set. The school regularly wears white pants (their all-white road uniforms are terrific, too) but I love this black pants-green jersey-white helmet offering.
Up next: A surprising ranking from a Connecticut school, one from the country’s capital, and an Oklahoma high school.

Gotta say I’m disappointed. I was expecting top ten.
Too many points deducted for No. 48’s Under Armour visor clashing with Adidas uniforms.
Also, helmet merit stickers are a huge disqualifier.
I think it’s the cleanest one so far, love those colors and the logo. The top 15 have big shoes to fill. Probably should just be the Hampton Crabbers 15 times over, though.
