Tiger Woods Sunday Red

I wish Payne Stewart were still alive today so could we have included his sensational styles of ivy caps and knickers worn throughout his much too short career. Instead, in the world of golf we present the infamous Sunday Red from Tigers Woods.

Close your eyes and picture Woods playing golf, what outfit do you see? It has to be the black hat, red shirt, and black pants.

Tiger started wearing red on Sunday as part of the team uniform while playing collegiately at Stanford and then kept that tradition alive after he turned pro and started winning on the PGA Tour. He has mentioned his mother thought it was his ‘power color’ but it was really his time in Palo Alto that set the tone.

At 48, things aren’t like they used to be for Woods and there’s even talk that he may jump early to the PGA Tour Champions with an exemption before turning 50. Although he didn’t wear red for every single Sunday victory, in his prime, it was something to behold when Tiger was on top of his game in the final round of a big tournament.

Woods made headlines recently by leaving Nike after a long-term relationship since he turned pro. His new apparel company is fittingly called Sun Day Red and features a leaping Tiger logo with 15 stripes to denote the 15 major tournament victories in his career. The launch so far in 2024 hasn’t gone very well and definitely has ushered in a visually new era of his career as he looks toward the senior tour.
