Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers uniform history is one hell of a wild ride and at different points of their sartorial progress they wouldn’t have made this list. However, in recent years they got back on track and give us one of the best uniforms in the NFL.

The initial Chargers uniforms from 1960 were bangers featuring the lightning bolt on the helmets, shoulders, and pants stripe. For their first 6 seasons, they used a medium Hawaiian blue and then in 1966 introduced yellow pants and a brighter shade of blue. Things stayed relatively the same until 1973 when the home jersey was updated to yellow numbers outlined in white.

The following year in 1974, the Chargers switched to a dark blue color scheme including dropping their white helmets in favor of this new blue. In 1985, they dropped the yellow pants in favor of white and slightly darkened the blue overall on the jerseys and pants. One year after that, the yellow numbers were gone and the Chargers really looked different from their roots in the 1960’s.

Alternate uniforms over the years hinted at a return to their glory and that first came in 2007 with a switch back to white helmets. When the team moved to Los Angeles they were juggling 3 different home uniforms: A light blue offering with white numbers, a dark blue jersey with white numbers, and a medium blue jersey with yellow numbers.

This is the modern-day Chargers, however, whenever they pair the light blue jerseys with the yellow pants it’s an elite of the elite football look. It’s a 10 out of 10.
