My pre-season poll was so bad that the top 3 teams, and 4 out of the top 5, all lost in week 1. Phew! And, it could've been worse but the no. 4 team played the no. 1 team. How could these teams do this to me? Anyway, a big reshuffle is in order at [...]
The nightmares continue playing Miami on the road. Notre Dame opened up the 2025 season with high hopes as the road favorite but now fly back to South Bend after suffering a close but very frustrating loss to the Hurricanes. Some bright spots were able to shine through and credit to the team for fighting [...]
The month of August ends on Sunday with the Fighting Irish closing out the first weekend* of the college football season in primetime on ABC against the Miami Hurricanes. Only 192 days ago, Notre Dame lost the National Championship Game to Ohio State and now we get to start a new campaign in Marcus Freeman's [...]
Writing about 20 underrated sports uniforms from college football, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. One uniform at a time. The last article in this series covers my favorite underrated uniform in North American sports. I grew up in an era where the St. Louis Blues had their most boring uniforms in franchise history. From 1984-94 [...]
Last October during the college football season we made the decision to open up our own 18 Stripes server on Discord. If you'd like to read the reasoning why check it out HERE. It's been almost 11 months and since opening the server we've added a few new channels. However, for most of our readers [...]
Look, no one expected what happened last year, not even the most Kool-Aid chugging optimist. While it didn't end well, it sure was a fun ride. The weekly picks articles are back with college football opening up this weekend. Well, since there's a week 0 the next picks article won't come for a couple more weeks after Week 1 is fully finished. I finished 2024 on a nice run going 6-3 during conference championship weekend. After one season with block diagonal typeface "Pittsburgh" [...]
Notre Dame's competitive, contentious, and controversial quarterback battle finally came to an end on Tuesday afternoon with the announcement that redshirt freshman CJ Carr won the job. A couple months ago, maybe even a few weeks ago, this was viewed as somewhat of a formality by many following the Fighting Irish. But it didn't quite [...]
Writing about 20 underrated sports uniforms from college football, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. One uniform at a time. Today's submission may be the most controversial among the 20 uniforms. When Minnesota entered pro football in 1961 they nailed their uniforms with a great purple helmet featuring a white Viking horn on each side. The [...]
Writing about 20 underrated sports uniforms from college football, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. One uniform at a time. You may sense a theme with the baseball uniforms I like. The Orioles have always looked good on the diamond. Particularly their home uniform and their alternates continue to be in their own class among MLB [...]
We have a good idea of the situation at most positions for Notre Dame football as kickoff in Miami moves closer. However, another August of mostly closed practices leaves mystery and intrigue surrounding a handful of spots on the roster.
