Over at ESPN+ a while back I was reading how Bill Connelly compared Notre Dame today to Clemson in the 2012-14 window with how the Irish were recruiting more blue-chips in the present than the Tigers were back then. So, I want to do 2 things in this two-part series. One, compare Notre Dame's 2012-14 [...]
Notre Dame added a big, athletic tight end to its 2022 class on Sunday when Eli Raridon announced for the Irish. The 6'6"/230-pounder out of West Des Moines, IA is the 12th commit in Notre Dame's 2022 recruiting class -- which now ranks 4th in the country behind Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State. 100% COMMITTED!!!!!☘️☘️☘️☘️@NDFootball [...]
There's been a decent amount of movement on the board since the last time we checked in on Notre Dame's 2022 offensive recruiting. The biggest development has nothing to do with individual prospects, though; it's that the NCAA has decided to finally lift the dead period as of June 1st, which as you might imagine [...]
A few weeks back we kicked off the 2022 defensive Big Board with a comprehensive rundown of where things stood. Fast forward almost a month and we do have some movement, with commitments coming at linebacker and defensive end and official visits being set up for the month of June. We will certainly see some [...]
Notre Dame added another big, athletic defensive end to its 2022 class today when Darren Agu announced for the Irish. The 6'6", 225-pound Georgia resident has had quite a fascinating journey to where he is now. Born in Ireland, Agu moved to London as a child. He played six-man football there and made a name [...]
A few weeks back we kicked off the 2022 offense big board with a comprehensive run down of where everything stood. Fast forward a couple of weeks and we don't have a ton of movement, but we do have a couple of developments worth noting. The Irish staff used St. Patrick's day as a huge [...]
Notre Dame fans were given another reason to celebrate this Saint Patrick's day, when 4-star linebacker Josh Burnham announced his verbal commitment to the Fighting Irish. The 6'4"/215-pounder out of Traverse City, MI is the eleventh player to commit to Notre Dame for the class -- the 5th on the defensive side of the ball. [...]
The other day we kicked off the 2022 offense big board; today we're going to jump into the defense. Going forward we'll update the board by position groups every other week; the offense will be split into QB/RB/OL and WR/TE, while the defense will be split into DL/LB and DB. We may increase the frequency [...]
Notre Dame added its first defensive secondary commitment from the 2022 class today when cornerback Jaden Mickey verbally committed to the Fighting Irish. The 5'11"/175-pounder out of Corona, CA is the tenth player to commit to Notre Dame for the class -- the fourth on the defensive side of the ball. Notre Dame's class currently [...]
Notre Dame broke the seal on the 2022 wide receiver group today when Amorion Walker announced for the Irish. While the staff had offered the 6'4", 180-pound Louisianan way back in November, things heated up with him considerably over the last month or so. Walker's frame is similar to other recent big receivers for the [...]
Around this time last year we published the first Big Board update for the 2021 class. It was also the last update for the class, because, well... In a triumph of hope over experience, we will venture once more into the fray to track developments in the 2022 class. The class is off to a [...]
In case you missed it, I recently reviewed my way-too-early guess at Notre Dame football's recruiting class of 2021. As is tradition, next year's way-too-early guess is next, and I think it's one that most of you would be pretty pleased with. The Fighting Irish have gotten off to their usual strong start, with a [...]
Notre Dame finally added the QB lynchpin to its 2022 class today when Steve "Peanut Butter" Angeli (credit to Eric for that one!) announced for the Irish. The 6'4", 215-pound New Jerseyan had to wait for a few other dominoes to fall, and to his credit stayed patient through it. The Irish staff had prioritized [...]
Hopefully you enjoyed our overview of the 2021 Notre Dame recruiting class with recruit grades and some thoughts on the class. We started a deeper dive on each position group with the offensive backfield (and shoehorned the kicker into it), then we moved on to the guys whose main job is to catch the damn [...]
