Tyler Buchner finally has a backfield mate! Notre Dame added a long-desired running back to its 2021 class today when Logan Diggs announced his commitment for the Irish. Notre Dame made a big move for the 6'0", 195-pound Louisianan when they offered and he reportedly considered committing, but he wanted to take visits anyway when [...]
Notre Dame added its second 2022 commitment today when TE Jack Nickel announced for the Irish. The 6'4", 230-pound Georgian recently made an independent visit to campus, like recent 2021 commit Chance Tucker, which no doubt was a key factor in his decision. Prospects can't interact with anyone acting in an official capacity for the [...]
It's taken longer than usual, but Notre Dame football finally received its first commitment of the 2022 class Saturday when offensive lineman Joey Tanona verbally committed to the Fighting Irish. 100% Committed. I’m staying home!☘️ #GoIrish @NDFootball @CoachBrianKelly @CoachJeffQuinn @T_Rees11 pic.twitter.com/P8w9K97Ioy — Joey Tanona (@JoeyTanona) July 25, 2020 The 6'5"/280-pounder out of Zionsville, Indiana received [...]
Grab your smelling salts: Notre Dame's 2021 class added its third cornerback today when Chance Tucker announced his pledge to the Irish. The 6'1", 170-pound Californian's recruitment reportedly was jolted, in a good way, by a stealth July 4th weekend visit with his father. Tucker is at least the third - what should we call [...]
After a nearly 3-month-long commitment drought on the offensive side of the ball, Notre Dame received some very welcome news today when offensive tackle Joe Alt decided to verbally commit to the Fighting Irish. The 6'7"/260-pounder out of Minneapolis, MN is the 12th commit in the Irish Class of 2021 -- a class which currently [...]
It's coming up on three months since Notre Dame's last commitment on the offensive side of the ball -- the most recent one being 3-star OL Pat Coogan on April 15th. There's a lot of grumbling going on by ND fans insisting this is Tommy Rees' fault or Jeff Quinn's fault or (insert the name [...]
It's been a pretty slow summer for Notre Dame football on the recruiting trail. With the recruiting dead period extended through July due to the coronavirus pandemic and no visits allowed to occur, it's been difficult for the Irish staff to make moves with some of the targets that haven't been able to visit campus [...]
Despite missing out on Will Shipley to Clemson last week the good news for Notre Dame recruiting continued in the form of graduate transfer cornerback Nick McCloud from NC State. He will come to South Bend with one year of eligibility remaining. McCloud was a 2016 commit for the Wolfpack out of South Pointe High [...]
Apologies as we've been slacking with the recruiting updates lately. Today, we'll catch everyone up on the recent commits in an extra special 3-for-1 recruiting article. Following a quiet late winter and early spring as the COVID-19 outbreak challenged programs all across the country we have seen an uptick in movement out of South Bend [...]
There have been so many "yeah but wait until next year's class" comments made about Notre Dame football recruiting that it's hard to keep track of which cycles received this tag in the past. In recent years it seems like it has been every cycle as the Irish inevitably start strong and close with a [...]
It's been an unprecedented month for the whole world including for college football whose spring practices came to a sudden halt in March. For Notre Dame, they will head into the uncertainty of summer with just one practice from spring and virtually nothing achieved for player development. Obviously, it's thrown everything for the program into [...]
Notre Dame football gained some much-needed good news this Friday afternoon, as defensive end David Abiara has decided to verbally commit to the Fighting Irish. The 6'4"/250-pounder out of Mansfield, TX is the 3rd defensive commit in Notre Dame's class of 2021, joining defensive tackle Gabe Rubio and safety Justin Walters. David first received his [...]
The clocks have jumped ahead, the weather inches ever warmer, the birds warble their reveille once again. You know what that means - time to revive the Big Board! YEAH BUDDY! Huh? Spring, you say? Oh... Well, I guess it's a sign of that too. We hadn't noticed. Nice. In more significant news, we welcome [...]
A little over a year ago I published my annual Way (Way) Too Early Guess at Notre Dame's Recruiting Class of 2020. As always with these posts, there is a ton of projection and guesswork involved. At this point in February, the Irish are still going through some evaluations, loads of kids haven't even started [...]
This cycle featured a much smaller class than usual (only 18 high school kids originally, minus one who would be in this review had he not made a daring early bid for Fulmer Cup supremacy), and the entire class signed in December's early signing period. That led to a very quiet January and February period [...]
