We thought it would be worthwhile to recap an eventful 2020 National Signing Day for your Fighting Irish. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Well, now that we've covered all of that... The Irish signed what was expected to be their entire class during the early signing period in December, and [...]
Notre Dame football's Junior Day event this past Saturday, while small, has already bore fruit for the Fighting Irish program. Junior Day attendee and 2021 safety Justin Walters has decided to shut down his recruitment and verbally commit to Notre Dame. The 6'2"/175-pound safety out of Bolingbrook, Illinois is Notre Dame's eighth verbal commit in [...]
Friday night news broke that is never good news. Incoming freshman 2020 corner prospect Landen Bartleson was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, and receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more after breaking into a store to steal guns. After an initial comment about waiting to gather facts, less than 24 [...]
We recently explored my grades for the Notre Dame offense recruiting stretching back to the 2013 class and today we turn our attention to the other side of the ball. As I mentioned in part one of this series, I am the toughest grader on this website. You saw a little bit of that with [...]
Going back to our Vox Media days we've been handing out grades to each player in the incoming recruiting classes but it wasn't until 2013 that we unveiled a more codified grading system. You can read our 2020 class overview for more information on said system. I thought it would be a neat idea to [...]
If it wasn't official last year it is now. Notre Dame (along with the vast majority of the country) now treat Early Signing Day, which concluded last Friday, December 20, 2019, as the traditional Signing Day. Now that NSD is jammed in between the end of the regular season and bowl season it feels lost [...]
Was I Sleeping? Have I Slept? I wouldn't blame anyone who feels like the early signing period snuck up on them - Notre Dame's 2020 recruiting has been so quite for so long that it was easy to forget it was coming. The staff made big inroads early with its top targets and wrapped almost [...]
With just a handful of games remaining in the 2019 season (my goodness does every single college football year fly by or what?) we have a clear picture on the use of the current Notre Dame freshmen and how that will affect the roster shape in the next couple campaigns. As we'll discuss below, something [...]
In a huge development for the 2020 depth chart, former Notre Dame target and current Ohio State Buckeye Isaiah Pryor announced his intent to transfer to Notre Dame after this season. The Irish pursued Pryor heavily in high school, first at Georgia's Pace Academy and later at IMG, but lost out to the bright lights [...]
It's been 4 months since our last scholarship update as the summer recruiting world for Notre Dame slowed down tremendously once July arrived. As such, not a ton has changed for the Irish and their scholarship numbers although there is always plenty to talk about as we are a couple months away from the early [...]
Strike up the band! Blue-chip wide receiver Lorenzo Styles jumped into Notre Dame's 2021 class, roughly 24 hours after top 60 wide receiver Deion Colzie did the same. Like Colzie, Styles lives in the home city of another college football blue-blood; Colzie in Athens, Styles in Columbus. Getting these guys is remarkable anyway, but even [...]
Notre Dame football's big recruiting weekend is starting off with a BIG bang. Elite 2021 prospect Deion Colzie has decided to verbally commit to the Fighting Irish. The 6'4"/195-pounder out of Athens, Georgia is the 6th commit for Notre Dame's Recruiting Class of 2021 -- a class which already includes FIVE players ranked in the [...]
Another odd-numbered year, another huge USC recruiting weekend. Unlike past years, though, every current-cycle visitor is already committed and any movement will happen with next-cycle visitors. Accordingly, the list of 2021 visitors is sizable and packed with elite prospects. The wonders of the early signing period... Among the ranks of the uncommitted visitors for the [...]
Welcome back to our deep dive series on Irish football recruiting rivalries. There are a few key schools who make you go all Captain Kirk when they sign a Notre Dame target, because DAMMIT THEY DID IT AGAIN. We're talking about those schools. We kicked off the series with a takedown of the Tree, continued [...]
