The New York Atlas, led by Notre Dame stars Liam Entenmann and Bryan Costabile, win the 2025 Premier Lacrosse League Championship! Along with Pat Kavanagh of the runner-up Denver Outlaws, our Irish alumni were spectacular in the season finale at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey.
The Game
Early in the game it was Pat Kavanagh lighting up the scoreboard. PKav scored the opening goal and followed it with a slick assist from behind the cage to put the Outlaws up early. Entenmann uncharacteristically struggled early, but the Atlas creeped ahead. The Bulls went into the locker room up 9-7.
The third quarter welcomed an explosive comeback by the Outlaws. As Notre Dame fans have come to expect, PKav led the way with a goal and an assist late in the quarter that put Denver up 12-11. But in the fourth, Entenmann showed his championship pedigree and locked down his opponents, while Bryan Costabile scored the two critical New York goals that put the Atlas up for good.
Entenmann finished with 14 saves at 52%, including some wild ones late. Bryan Costabile’s line was the two goals to put the Atlas ahead, and Pat Kavanagh contributed two goals and two assists for his team.

Fight!
If we needed further proof that our alumni’s blood runs green, a short fight broke out between the Atlas and Pat Kavanagh in front of the Atlas goal. To the surprise of no Notre Dame fans, it was Liam Entenmann who protected PKav from his pro teammates. We’re sure PKav didn’t need any help, but the situation was not going to explode on Entenmann’s watch.

Accolades
The season ended with Chris Kavanagh winning Rookie of the Year honors. Brian Tevlin was honored with the Jimmy Regan Teammate of the Year Award. The award is given in honor of the fallen Jimmy Regan, with the history of the award reading:
Whether playing lacrosse at Chaminade High School, leading the Duke Men’s Lacrosse team to two ACC championships or serving our country as a Fire Team Leader with the elite Special Operations 75th Ranger Regiment, Jimmy was always the consummate team player and a friend to all. “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”… that was Jimmy Regan. In memory of Jimmy Regan, this award is given to the ultimate teammate.
Liam Entenmann, Pat Kavanagh, Chris Kavanagh and Brian Tevlin earned All-Pro honors.
Crootin’
NCAA Division 1 lacrosse recruiting season is only 18 days old, and as of this writing, the Notre Dame coaching staff has already secured the verbal commitment of eleven players, including four on the Inside Lacrosse 5-star list, and four 4-stars and three 3-stars. We’ll have more to say about the players in this amazing class as the recruiting process finalizes.
Go Irish!
