#1 Undefeated
According to the Vegas oddsmakers in March, there are 6 teams at the FBS level who are currently favored in every regular season game in 2026. They include:
Georgia
Penn State
North Dakota State
Notre Dame
Texas Tech
Utah
The Dawgs do play at Alabama and Ole Miss.
Penn State has USC and Michigan in back-to-back weeks plus a trip to Washington. I’m not sure they should be on this list!
It’s pretty bold to put NDSU among these teams in their first season at the FBS level!
Texas Tech and Utah obviously do not face each other. I like the Red Raiders schedule a lot better (they don’t face BYU unlike the Utes) but who knows what will happen in the Big 12 this year.
#2 Schedule Re-Do
Last summer, Louisiana Tech announced it would be joining the Sun Belt Conference. At some point. Well, no later than the 2027 season. La Tech has filed a lawsuit against their current home Conference USA to try and leave the league. This week, Conference USA announced its schedule for 2026 and the Bulldogs are included.

We have 5.5 months until the season kicks off, so plenty of time for this to be worked out. By the time you may be reading this the Sun Belt schedule (coming out this Friday, March 13th) is also expected to feature Louisiana Tech, as well. This is the most La Tech has been in the news in probably a decade!
#3 Gilman Guarantee
I went back and looked at our scouting report for Alohi Gilman ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft and I predicted a free agent deal to the Chargers. The Irish safety had transferred over from Navy, had a very nice career in South Bend, but didn’t test amazingly well or have good size for the pros. I was right about him going to the Chargers, but they took him in the 6th round instead.
Gilman spent 5.5 seasons with the Chargers before a trade to Baltimore this past October. Heading into free agency, Gilman was back on the market and recently signed a $24.75 million deal with the Chiefs over 3 years including a $15 million guarantee.
It’s been an amazing career for Gilman who will turn 29 this upcoming September. He’s started 51 games and totaled 320 tackles, with 5 interceptions.
Uniform of the Week
I’m coming for the Air Force football uniforms. I want to love them–their colors are awesome and unique. I’m not sure what their traditional color scheme really is, though. They’ve worn white, gray, and blue pants liberally over the years. I think a white helmets has been used more often but blue has been around for a long time too–and they’ve been wearing blue the majority of the time lately. I don’t think the blue helmets work at all for them.

Blue or white helmets?
As we know, the Air Force alternate uniform game is strong and among the best in the nation. They wore 3 alternates in 2025, for what its worth. Very rarely has AFA worn white helmets, blue jerseys, and silver pants. I think this is the look they should be pushing more. This was something they tried a lot in the 1990’s and early 2000’s but it’s mostly disappeared.
Media
I just finished up season 1 of Severance on Apple TV. I thought this was a show about getting let go from a company, I had no idea what I was getting myself into! I haven’t watched every single episode of Parks and Recreation so to me, Adam Scott has always been the arrogant brother Derek Huff from Step Brothers. When Severance came out I even thought, “Oh, they cast the Step Brothers guy in a big TV show like this, good for him!” He’s killing in this show and worthy of all the awards he’s received. The whole cast is killing it.
I briefly lost attention somewhere in the 3rd or 4th episode then it reeled me right back in with some hardcore story turns. I think because there is so much detail paid to every single scene. It’s not a show I’ve had an easy time binge watching a couple episodes at a time. I’ve enjoyed it better when I’ve watched 20 minutes, turned it off, and returned to it later. I look forward to season two!
Could something exist where there’s a Severance for sports fans? Dealing with a gut-wrenching loss? Let your brain forget about it for a while when you’re at work or enjoying time with family! Some might call this “being normal” but many are afflicted with this disease of fanaticism.
Tunes
It’s about to get real weird today. I present Quebec duo Angine de Poitrine, a group that is starting to go viral but haven’t really reached the wider United States media yet. Wearing black and white polka dot costumes they are described has microtonal math rock, experimental rock, and performance rock. Using nonstandard tuning and guitar loops, watching them live is mesmerizing. There really isn’t that much information on them to date. They released a new song last month and are looking to release a new album, and tour the US, later this year. I’ve linked their “popular” song “Sherpa” below from their appearance on KEXP (which I believe is out of Seattle?) which has been driving a lot of their growing fame. But I think this was filmed in Quebec. I don’t know, it’s so hard to understand.
They have one album of 6 songs from 2024 on Apple Music, plus 2 new songs released from their upcoming album. That’s it so far. As you’d expect for a group that relies on guitar loops, their songs start off slow and build up. We’re creating layers. I’m especially enamored with the drummer whose job is really tough in this type of setting. From watching their other songs he’s excellent at switching up time signatures and I love the way he’s vibing behind the paper mache costume. Go ahead, text an Angine de Poitrine song to someone and say nothing.
One More Thing
I woke up this past Wednesday morning to see that the modern-day NBA single game scoring record was set by none other than…Bam Adebayo!??? The NBA is getting so weird these days and this could be cherry on top for this entire generation.
Adebayo came into the game averaging 18.9 points per game for the 2025-26 season.
His previous career high for points in a game was only 41 points.
He made 13 field goals in or around the basket, plus 7 three point field goals. Typical for this era, he made no midrange field goals.
Bam missed 15 shots from three point land, he could’ve scored 100+ points!
3 assists to 5 turnovers.
Adebyao broke the most free throws made in a NBA game by EIGHT. He finished 36 of 43 from the charity stripe. The highlights in the video above aren’t going to show it but Washington kept double and triple teaming him, hacking him, to try and prevent him from scoring while the Heat also fouled liberally to stop the clock and slow the game down for Adebayo to chase the record.
