It leaves a bad taste in your mouth when it’s the regular season finale and a weekend full of great rivalry games only for Notre Dame to face a 4-7 Stanford team with an interim head coach. That this game kicks off at 10:30 PM ET is even more insane. As you’ll see below, the playoff fate of Notre Dame will be much clearer very early this weekend. From the 11 games included in this week’s picks, 7 of them will come before the 3:30 PM window on Saturday.
ESPN figured the Virginia Tech at Virginia game was a better 7:00 PM timeslot, so be it.
2025 Betting Record
Against the Spread: 50-53
Straight Up: 68-35
I thought we’d see mostly favorites winning but not covering this past week. That largely was not the case. In a brutal week against the spread, only my pick of BYU to win and cover came through. Beyond that it was 5 losses against the spread, although a 4-2 record straight was a little better.

Navy [+5.5] at Memphis
Thursday, November 27, 7:30 PM, ESPN
The AAC league title game race could get crazy, just check out this Reddit post for more information. Distilled down, if North Texas (20.5 point favorites vs. Temple) and Tulane (30.5 point favorites vs. Charlotte) win they will get in, no matter what Navy does (even though the Middies could be tied on conference record). Memphis has faltered down the stretch but they’ve won 17 out of their last 20 home games while beating Navy the last 4 times inside Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Like last year’s matchup, I bet we see tons of points.

#7 Ole Miss [-6.5] at Miss StateĀ
Friday, November 28, 12:00 PM, ABC
It’s the 122nd Egg Bowl. Settle in on the couch on Friday after recovering from Thanksgiving, warm up some leftovers, and watch this chaos develop. Where is Lane Kiffin coaching next year? LSU? Florida? Goddamn Auburn? Staying at Ole Miss? With that distraction hanging over Kiffin & Co. we should remind our readers this is maybe the premier “throw out the records” rivalry in the nation. A quick eyeball of things and the average margin of victory for either team in this game is like 4.6 points since 2017. Vegas has acted accordingly. The Bulldogs have been a lot like South Carolina this year–flirting with upsets but not able to finish the job. They’ve also given up a ton of points to anybody with a pulse on offense. Close, but Ole Miss gets this one.

Soon?

#13 Utah [-12.5] at Kansas
Friday, November 28, 12:00 PM, ESPN
Kansas has proven (they’re 10-13 since that fun 9-win season in 2023) they can’t be trusted these days and are coming off their 3rd blowout loss over their last 5 games. Still, I’m adding this game to the week because I’m curious to see Utah rebound from a crazy game last time out, head back east, with an early start. It’s an upset watch, for sure.

#4 Georgia [-14.5] vs. #23 Georgia Tech (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)
Friday, November 28, 3:30 PM, ABC
You have to commend Brent Key on the job he’s done at Georgia Tech. They should’ve won this matchup last year! It seems like the Yellow Jackets have been in the spotlight more this year and Georgia has been drudging along not quite up to the Dawgs’ usual elite play. Then you look at SP+ and Tech is all the way down in 38th and Georgia is 6th. Suddenly, a double-digit spread makes more sense, especially after the Bees lost at home to Pitt recently. I’ll still take the Yellow Jackets with a sneaky back door cover.

#3 Texas A&M [-2.5] at #16 Texas
Friday, November 28, 7:30 PM, ABC
Win and the Aggies are in the SEC Championship Game for the first time ever. They can also still make it with a loss, but would also need Auburn and Miss State to both win this weekend. Even with a loss, the Aggies are pretty secure in the playoff hunt. This is about beating a rival in a huge night game (this game should get huge TV numbers), trying to stay unbeaten, and grab a first round bye. A&M should be ready in enemy territory. Texas has to love playing the role of spoiler though, and I think they will take down the Aggies.

My friends argue Reed can’t win the Heisman but…

#12 Miami [-6.5] at #22 Pittsburgh
Saturday, November 29, 12:00 PM, ABC
It’ll be about 37 degrees and overcast for kickoff with Miami players bundled up. Will Steel City grittiness be enough to overcome a pretty poor matchup for Narduzzi & Co? With the ACC running their mouth in social media this will be the most watched game of the weekend for many of us. H2P!

#1 Ohio State [-9.5] at #15 Michigan
Saturday, November 29, 12:00 PM, Fox
Michigan has won 5 in a row so there’s a little bit of hype building for them. Gross, I know. A not-so-secret aspect to this Michigan team is that they would’ve been way more in the mix this year if they had good quarterback play. I don’t believe any of the “rise” lately for Bryce Underwood. He’s been super erratic (70th in passer rating!), people want to believe due to his recruiting ranking, and I think ultimately Ohio State forces a bunch of mistakes out of him.

#6 Oregon [-6.5] at Washington
Saturday, November 29, 3:30 PM, CBS
After years of domination, this has become a tricky rivalry game for the Ducks. They won last year, but lost the previous 3 to the Huskies before that. However, one thing that sticks out to me this year is Washington really struggling offensively in their hardest games. Oregon is really good at slowly suffocating opponents (except Indiana!) and I think they’ll eventually get their way in Seattle. But it’ll be close.

LSU [+10.5] at #8 Oklahoma
Saturday, November 29, 3:30 PM, 3:30 PM, ABC
LSU probably doesn’t have much will power left and their offense is an abomination at this point in the season. Did you know the Tigers have scored 25 or fewer points in 10 out of their 11 games? But that Sooners offense is just stinky enough for this game to stay close. This might be a game where a field goal or less is scored by halftime. A punt fest.

#14 Vanderbilt [+2.5] at #19 TennesseeĀ
Saturday, November 29, 3:30 PM, 3:30 PM, ESPN
This is a great matchup and should be a super fun game, except it doesn’t have a ton of meaning for the playoffs. This is a huge game for the career of Clark Lea, though. Clinching a 10-win season? With Vanderbilt? Inside Neyland Stadium? This would be pretty awesome.

#10 Alabama [-6.5] at Auburn
Saturday, November 29, 7:30 PM, ABC
The Iron Bowl, meeting no. 90 in the series. Is Deuce Knight going to defend home turf and beat the Tide in only his 2nd career start? With an interim head coach? It would be pretty damn wild. Also, if Alabama loses this game and misses the playoffs the country might have to prepare itself for the Tide head coaching job to be opened up. History dictates this will be a close game in the 4th quarter but I don’t see Auburn pulling it out.

This is the face you make if you can’t beat Auburn.

I have a hunch this weekend that OSU is going to drown their Michigan demons and destroy them 41-13. I would love to see Miami give up in the cold and get whipped by Pitt 35-17
