Writing about 20 underrated sports uniforms from college football, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. One uniform at a time.
I was going to feature Kennesaw State in one of the Rambler articles this off-season as the program debuted new uniforms this summer. Instead, they make the list of the most underrated uniforms in sports. They would’ve made the list with their previous uniforms too.
The Owls are entering their second year at the FBS level this fall and their debut didn’t go super great in 2024. A total of 10 losses, although they did upset Liberty. Officially, the school colors are Hooty Hoo Gold, Legacy Black, Slap Rock Gray, and Bachelor’s White. Don’t you just love public relations?
The new Kennesaw State uniforms for 2025:

Is Oregon a little jealous?
While not using a traditional script across the chest, they’ve returned to a larger look instead of the tiny arched layout from last year. They used yellow numbers on the white jerseys in the past but no longer. However, the yellow numbers remain with the black uniforms.
I’m normally pro-TV numbers but if you’re going to ditch them in place of a different owl feather pattern on the shoulders I can’t complain. The helmets remained mostly the same from the past, although the H.E.T.M front nose bumper for Hit Everything That Moves has to go as soon as possible. You’re in the FBS now, Kennesaw!
Of course, I have to pick one uniform to be underrated and it’s the black with the Owls script. The white jersey should drop the “STATE” and just enlarge the “KENNESAW” wordmark across the chest.
Glad to see our neighbors up the street are getting a review! KSU was a sleepy commuter campus not long ago, never thought it would be on this rocket trajectory to D1 and 18s uniform watch. We thought the campus reached its peak when it hosted an ND lax game years back or the infamous MLL championship played with the KSU field literally underwater.
