Luke Jones became the third lineman in Notre Dame's 2018 recruiting class when he committed today. The 6'5", 292-pound Jones was on his official visit for the football banquet, following up his unofficial visit for the USC game. Jones committed to Arkansas back in July, but the rough season and the unceremonious exit of Bret [...]
After a resoundingly successful early signing period, the big question is how will Notre Dame finish 2018 recruiting with just a handful of key prospects still on the board? The first-ever early signing period has been a big topic of discussion for the 18 Stripes staff. We're confident it will have some kind of impact [...]
Braden Lenzy returned to the fold when he signed with Notre Dame today, during the first-ever early signing window for football. Lenzy first committed to the Irish almost ten months ago, shortly after visiting for the first junior day of the 2018 cycle. He flipped to Oregon in June, reportedly due to confusion about how [...]
For the first time ever, we have an early signing day for college football recruiting. It's a huge day across the country, as coaches and players alike show how committed they really are to each other. There are pros and cons to the phenomenon, of course, but that's not the point of this post. No, [...]
Back in the old days we'd still be another month and a half until National Signing Day but beginning this Wednesday the early signing period opens up for 72 hours. As of this writing all of Notre Dame's commits are expected to sign with the Irish so effectively the first Wednesday in February will be [...]
Tommy Tremble became the 20th commit in the 2018 Notre Dame recruiting class when he announced for the Irish at his school today. The 6'4", 225-pound Georgian with the name of a Stan Lee character has had a bit of an up and down recruitment, seemingly trending to and away from various suitors along the [...]
Elite defensive back Houston Griffith became the newest Notre Dame commit of the 2018 cycle when he announced for the Irish today. The 6'1", 192-pound IMG prospect recently hosted Todd Lyght, decommitted from Florida State, hosted Brian Kelly and Mike Elko last week, and hosted Lyght again the other day. While Griffith hasn't trekked to [...]
Tariq Bracy joined the 2018 Notre Dame bandwagon when he announced for the Irish today. The 6'0", 170-pound Californian took an official visit for the USC game, and Notre Dame made a huge move for him on that trip. Area recruiter Brian Polian and position coach Todd Lyght were key in landing the raw but [...]
With 18 commitments already in the 2018 class, the list of football banquet recruiting visitors this year is centered more on camaraderie than progress. Even so, there are of course some uncommitted visitors in town who are key targets; unsurprisingly, they're all at positions of need in this class. The Irish staff will attempt to [...]
Floridian Joe Wilkins became the 19th Notre Dame commit of the 2018 cycle when he announced for the Irish today. The 6'2", 180-pounder just took an official visit for the Wake Forest game with his mother; they had planned on visiting a few more schools, but apparently they saw all they needed in South Bend. [...]
Halloween has come and gone and now we're at the point where the recruiting class of 2018 is really coming together. We'll probably see a couple of new names pop up on the board here in the next couple of months, but right now the Irish have zeroed in on their top targets and are [...]
California speedster Geordon Porter became the 18th Notre Dame commit of the 2018 cycle when he announced for the Irish at his high school today. At 6'2", Porter is actually the shortest of the three receivers in the class at this point; clearly the Irish have prioritized size at the position. What is even more [...]
It’s almost November already and the Irish are ready for another Top 15 showdown at Notre Dame Stadium tomorrow afternoon. This weekend continues to get better and better for Notre Dame Football. Not only did the Irish de-pants the USC Trojans on prime-time television last night, but now they have earned their 17th verbal commitment from the Class of 2018 -- this time from a kid mere miles from campus. Mishawaka, Indiana product Paul Moala [...]
Stop me if you've heard this one: The USC game is days away. The Irish are favored and it's a huge recruiting weekend. Woohoo! Just like 2011, right? Well, while there will be many recruiting visitors for USC weekend, just like 2011, but there's plenty of reason to believe that 2017 Notre Dame is in [...]
